1/28/10

I haven't really had much to post about in a while. Just school and normal, boring, stuff. School is interesting for me but it's not much to blog about. My classes are completely normal. My teachers are completely normal. I am completely normal.

I miss my exciting life on "the road" but I am enjoying having a steady life without ups and downs every other day. This is fine... for now. I guess it really is not up to me. It's up to God and that is one thing I am totally okay with. I do secretly hope though that I get what I want, but then again I think everyone wants their own will... The question is... does everyone need there own will to come into action. The answer, I believe, is NO.

I have my camcorder up and I am filming my computer screen as I type this. Weird... I know...

oops. It ran out of batteries. The video was about seven minutes long anyway... and extremely boring.

The school term just ended. I am hoping I made honor role but I don't think I did. The second quarter was much harder then the first. I think my grade might have dropped in science. Besides that, I am not to worried. I am doing better in French and I just got a 98% on an English paper. It's hard to keep all of my grades up but I think I did okay.

I was just reading some of my older posts. I kept forgetting to capitalize the beginning of sentences and putting an apostrophe in "it's". I hope I am not still making so many silly grammar mistakes. At least I proof read my blog posts now.

PNG

Today I started to really miss PNG (Papua New Guinea). I went there on an outreach with my family and a bunch of other people last year. I didn't appreciate being there at the time but now I really miss it. I was thinking about the beautiful people and the beautiful beach and how much closer I got to God while I was there. I can't explain everything now because it's late but I hope to have time to post about PNG some other day.

Aujourd'hui c'est le vingt et un janvier.

^^^ Today is the 21st of January ^^^

The name of this post is written in French. It's only because I have been doing a lot of French lately for school. I have been really busy with all kinds of school work. I just completed two English papers, I had a French quiz today, I am working on a science project and I am learning guitar.

A couple days ago I got home from school and was really tired. I was falling asleep while doing my homework so my mom gave me some coffee. That was a bad idea. I couldn't sleep all night. It wasn't until past 3 am that I finally fell asleep. I am still trying to get my sleep cycle on track.

It is The 14th of January!

Hello! I know I haven't posted in a while but I have been back at school and very busy! Grades close for the term next week so I have been doing a lot of school stuff, studying and such because I want to make sure all my grades are good and that I will still me on the honor role. Things have been good though. I am doing a little better in French and I just completed a project for English (Avatar Review...see previous post to read it!). Anyway, this was just a quick update! I have to do a little science studying!

WHAT?!?! Another Avatar Review!?!?!

Hi!

I know I already posted a little Avatar review but I had to do one for a school assignment so I thought I would post it on here :) Enjoy!

Avatar is an exciting film with great special effects and a clever plot. It’s science-fiction, directed by James Cameron. Avatar stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana. The film is about three hours long but is so fast paced and compelling it doesn’t feel that long.

The plot follows the story of a handicapped soldier named Jake Sully. Jake’s twin brother was working on a project to become like the native people of Pandora, called Navi, and convince them to leave their village so the humans can take some of their natural resources. When Jake’s brother dies he is recruited to take his place. Jake’s mind is put into a Navi body and he goes into the jungle of Pandora. Jake ends up falling in love with a native woman called Neytiri and fights with the Navi to save their village.

The setting is beautiful. Although it is mainly CGI, the planet Pandora is very believable. It features floating mountains, a village in the trees and other fantasy locations unlike anything in real life. The dialog in Avatar is defiantly not the main attraction. Although the dialog is not bad it is defiantly overshadowed by all of the great visual elements.

The characters are each well crafted though some of the Navi have similar personalities so they don’t stand out. It is the same for some of the humans but all the important characters, such as Jake, Neytiri and Dr. Grace, are distinctive and interesting. They each go through conflict and deal with it in different ways. No two of the main characters have the same personality.

Avatar was defiantly a well made film. Although the plot does not appeal to everyone it has aspects for all different types of movie watchers. There is romance, action, adventure and a little comedy. Some elements are not appropriate for younger children and there is some violence. Ultimately though I think it is definitely a five star movie!

2010!

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!! Woot Woot, Its 2010! New years resolution....hmmm. Well, I am thinking of trying to go through the whole year only drinking one soda a month. Can I do it? I don't know but I will try! I don't really know what to talk about on here today. I am not feeling well today so I might just relax. I exchanged late Christmas gifts with my friends yesterday, that was super fun and I got some cool stuff. Anyway, I am going to take a shower now and relax. Maybe I will post tomorrow.
